Interior Home Decor: Christmas Edition

Updated: Sep 24, 2021

When we toured our house back in June (before our offer had even been accepted), I was dreaming of how I would decorate for Christmas. That tends to be a problem of mine - I get ahead of myself pretty easily! Luckily, our offer was accepted - fast forward 5 months later and the time has finally come to decorate for my favorite holiday - Christmas!

I want to take you through our main living area's Christmas decor and link up some of the things I can. I hope you enjoy my cozy finds! Some items were from previous years (I tried to utilize what I already had), but I found similar options. Drop a comment below and let me know your favorite area in your home to decorate for Christmas!

Kitchen Window/Door One of my favorite spots in the house! Trees are all Target dollar spot finds (minus the tinsel tree - that's old, linked a similar option below). Faux greenery stem is old from Hearth and Hand line. Garland is currently sold out, but linked a similar option that I actually like better from Amazon! I hung the garland with two nails on both sides of the window trim - easy!

Also, please note my blooming Christmas cactus! I haven't seen it bloom since I got it a few years ago - it loves the light from the window!

Amazon Garland (also like this one) - would love to add these battery operated lights

Kitchen Dining Table

This sweet table from Ashley Furniture was one of my first big purchases when I moved into my own apartment 6 years ago. Luckily it fits perfectly in this space (we don't have a formal dining area/room).

Cake stand is old from HomeGoods, but I took vase filler (all from Target) and made an arrangement around a battery operated candle. Perfect, easy centerpiece idea!

The Christmas village you see is only a small part of my collection. I inherited quite a few houses/village accessories from my grandma, and my mother-in-law also added to my collection a couple years ago. Because space is limited, I wanted to incorporate what I could without making it seem too cluttered. I also added a few other houses to the top of our dresser in our bedroom (bedroom post coming soon).

Love the St. Nicholas Square line for Christmas villages (link is to Kohl's)

Entryway Decor

Garland is old, linked similar here and here

Fireplace/Main Tree

On to the fireplace - green stockings are from Hearth and Hand line a couple years ago. I linked the one in the middle (for our Poppy girl) below. I found these "merry" tags in the Target dollar spot and just hung them from the hooks with the stockings. Etsy has a lot of cute name tags for stockings - I've seen this trend pop up more this year. Fireplace garland is linked, as well - also included a fuller option (I like that look better, but didn't want to block the TV). Houses on the mantle are from Target dollar spot (do you sense a trend?) We collect ornaments from various places we've been, so our tree tends to lean more on the sentimental side versus "pretty." I prefer it this way! :)

Plaid Stocking (this one is cute too)

Fireplace Garland (also love this full garland) - would love to add these battery operated lights

7ft Pre-Lit Virginia Pine Artificial Tree (got this during a 40% sale) - added extra lights

I hope you enjoyed a mini tour of our main living area! Bigger items like furniture and rugs are all linked on the "Shop My Home" page. Stay tuned for an exterior Christmas tour!
